Tag Along Freight helps shippers, brokers, and drivers manage loads, tracking, and proof-of-delivery. We respect your privacy and process personal data in line with applicable laws (e.g., GDPR, CCPA/CPRA).

2) Data We Collect

Depending on how you use the App, we may collect:

Account & Profile: name, email, phone, company, role, DOT/MC or fleet identifiers, password (hashed).

Location Data: precise and/or approximate location (including background location if you enable it) to support live tracking, ETAs, and geofenced events (pickup/drop-off).

Load & Operations: order IDs, route waypoints, timestamps, signatures, notes, equipment details.

Photos/Files: images for proof-of-delivery (POD), damages, documents you upload (e.g., BOL).

Device & App Data: device model, OS, app version, unique device identifiers, crash logs, diagnostics, and usage analytics (e.g., screens viewed).

Communications: support messages, in-app chat, call or SMS metadata (not call content).

Payment Data (if applicable): handled by a third-party processor; we receive payment status/refs, not full card details.

Permissions: You may be asked to grant Location (foreground/background), Camera, Notifications, Network/Internet, and Foreground Service permissions to enable core features. You can change these anytime in your device settings; some features may stop working without them.

3) Why We Use Your Data

Provide, operate, and secure the App (identity, authentication, account management).

Tracking & Routing: live location, ETAs, geofencing, delivery confirmations.

Proof & Compliance: POD images/signatures, time/location stamps, audit logs.

Customer support and service communications.

Improve performance, quality, and safety (analytics, diagnostics, bug fixing).

Prevent fraud, abuse, or violations of our Terms.

Legal obligations (tax, accounting, law-enforcement requests where required).

4) Legal Bases (GDPR, if applicable)

Contract: to deliver the App and services you request.

Legitimate Interests: to secure and improve services, prevent fraud, and support operations.

Consent: where required (e.g., background location, marketing).

5) Sharing Your Data

We do not sell your personal information. We may share with:

Service Providers: hosting, analytics, maps/location, crash reporting, customer support, notifications, payment processing—only what’s needed to provide the service and under contract.

Your Organization/Partners: if your account is managed by a company, relevant operational data (e.g., load status, location, POD) may be visible to authorized administrators, shippers, and consignees.

6) Retention

We keep data as long as necessary for the purposes above, your account lifecycle, and legal requirements. You may request deletion (see Your Rights); certain operational or legal records may be retained as required by law or for legitimate interests (e.g., dispute resolution).

7) Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards (encryption in transit, access controls, least-privilege). No system is 100% secure; please keep your login confidential and update your app and OS regularly.

8) Your Choices & Rights

Access/Update/Delete: request a copy, correction, or deletion of your data.

Portability: receive data in a portable format where applicable.

Opt-Out: marketing messages (if any) include an unsubscribe link.

Permissions: you can revoke device permissions (e.g., background location) in settings.

CCPA/CPRA (California): you may request disclosure, correction, deletion, and to limit certain uses of sensitive information. We do not “sell” personal information as defined by the CCPA/CPRA.

EEA/UK: you may object or restrict processing and lodge a complaint with your local authority.

9) International Transfers

If data is transferred outside your country/region, we use appropriate safeguards (e.g., Standard Contractual Clauses) where required by law.
